Lawful bases and data protection rights
Under UK data protection law, we must have a “lawful basis” for collecting and using your personal information.

Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are:

The collection and use of personal information is both legitimate and necessary because we may be asking volunteers to attend schools, colleges or other places to deliver fraud awareness and education to potentially vulnerable people. The benefits of collecting your personal information is therefore of benefit to your welfare and safety. We would not want to match you an organisation to deliver fraud awareness and education to which you are not comfortable, nor where the group to be delivered training to may be uncomfortable about you.
